With 7 nations from Sweden, Great Britain, Gibraltar, Irland, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands was the 3rd event of the European Circuit a clear sign that the idea of a European regatta series with a focus on friendly meetings and European exchange was considered necessary by the participants.

For the races, the influence of the general weather conditions with light winds was an exciting challenge for sailors and the excellent race management team. They delivered a top performance with precision and composure.

Clear winner of this championship was Jan ten Hoeve, who was always to be found in the top places with good boat speed and clever tactics..

Master jump into the water

Runner-up became Detlef Müller-Böling. With scientific meticulousness, he managed several times to use the right wind patterns to be at the forefront.

Third place deservedly went to the Dutchman Tjeetd van der Zee.

About the ungrateful but noteswefourth place was happy Ben Van Cauwenbergh, who has currently won the Belgian Dragon championship.

It was a particularly successful event in all areas with great hospitality from the Dutch 2.4mR sailors. International thanks duringe the price giving ceremony and a repeat of the traditional date was the wish of all involved.

The discussions and exchange of views were valuable and constructive. Particular interest was given to the 2.4mR legend Hasse Malmsten from Sweden (7th place) and his reports from the 2.4 class development. Hasse enthusiastically offered to initiate an event in Sweden as early as 2024. So will England (Poole) and Irland with Action4Europe complete the European Circuit calendar.

The website for Action4Europe www.2point4.eu was highly praised as a European medium and coordination point for the European exchange of 2.4mR regatta sailors.

Now we move on to the happy European get-together Macha Lake in Czech Republic, then after PLau and finally after Antwerp.

I look forward to it!

Ulli Libor, GER 1011, winner of the Report Trophy
