Last weekend, the Norwegian 2.4mR Championships were held in Gjøvik on Lake Mjøsa in Norway. Twenty-three competitors lined up at the start, including three enthusiastic sailors from Ljungskile/Sweden: Gunnar Ödman, Matz Brown and Hasse Malmsten. On Saturday, we had typical inland weather with light winds and frequent shifts. Five planned races were became two. There was a great atmosphere at the after-sail get-together and regatta dinner at the clubhouse. On Sunday, the wind picked up slightly but shifted considerably in both direction and strength. Three races were sailed (five in total) so the championship was decided and one race could be discarded.
Frank Huth was crowned Norwegian champion, his third title in a row. Hasse finished fifth, closely followed by Matz in sixth place, and Gunnar in seventh place.
