This past weekend, our Swedish ranking series concluded with the Höstulven Cup 2026. Four nations were represented, despite the relatively modest number of sailors who took the opportunity to meet up with fellow competitors and sail on the excellent waters of Ljungskileviken.
A dedicated team of volunteers ensured the regatta could go ahead despite challenging weather—particularly on Saturday, when westerly winds picked up from 6–8 m/s in the morning to gusts reaching up to 15 m/s in the afternoon.
Two races were held in the morning, followed by a break ashore with warming soup prepared by our “in-house” chef Gunnar Ödman, and then one more race before the wind became too strong. The Irish support crew handled the lunch service with great cheer.
Heading into Sunday’s forecast light-wind racing, Patrick Hassett from Ireland held the lead, followed by our own Matz Brown, with Knud Falbe-Hansen in third place.
The light and shifting winds on Sunday were handled skillfully by both the race committee—who managed to set up good courses—and Matz Brown, who secured the regatta victory with a consistent series of results. Holger Humborg finished second, and Patrick Hassett third.
We would like to thank all participants—sailors and officials alike—for their efforts. Without you, none of this would be possible.
The full results are published on Sailarena.
