European summer – extreme

In the first half of the summer of 2023, climate change brought an unprecedented level of weather extremes to Europe as well.

Heat waves with terrible fires in southern Europe.

In Northitaly, Carinthia and Slovenia catastrophic floods.

Autumnal weather in Central Europe with lots of rain up to masses of hailstones.

Now it should at least calm down a bit in Central Europe and the "normale" summer will come back again.

We hope for a nice second half for this sailing season, which in European Circuit still has a few regattas in store.

From September 8th to 10th the International Dutch Championshiptakes place at the Zuidlaardermeer. So far 23 starters are from Belgium, Germany, Gibraltar, Great Britain, Irland and the Netherlands reported. We are particularly pleased that after a decline in recent years, the group of Dutch 2.4mR sailors is again well represented with 8 boats. Ten races are planned. The entry fee is 120€, if you register after September 5th 130€. Registrations are made via the Organizer, of the Seilvereniging Zuidlaarermeer.

A week later we continue with that Czech Grand Prixfrom September 15th to 17th on Lake Macha. So far, 16 sailors from Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Switzerland have registered there. Victor Sadilek would be happy if more sailors would come to make the 2.4mR even more visible in the Czech Republic. messages under https://www.sailing.cz/prihlasky/231714. Entry fee until August 20th: 2.400 CZK (approx. 120€), after that: 3.200 CZK (approx. 130€).
