Troyes, the historic capital of southern Champagne
Only 20 minutes AutA journey from the “Lac d'Orient” sailing area lies Troyes, the capital of southern Champagne. The historic center stands out seine Shape reminiscent of a champagne cork, a feature of Troyes that comes from the former defensive walls that protected the city.
A walk between the enchanting buildings in the typical half-timbered style with red, yellow and white facades is worthwhileswert. Hidden between these charming apartment buildings are secret passages and narrow cobbled streets, like the famous Katzengasse.
The architectural opulence of downtown Troyes is a reminder of the city's glorious past, particularly that of the textile industry: the old brick factories still have their beautiful facades and have now been converted into residential buildings. This aesthetic is a mix of different materials such as cast iron and glass and is a nod to the architecture of the Troyes covered market, which was inspired by the halls in Paris
Troyes alone is worth a trip!

That really makes you want to go on this trip - a new area, sailing in a great international community and tourist highlights. Unfortunately we have other commitments this weekend. But, we will definitely stop in Troyes. Thanks for the tip!
Dear Lutz,
always nice to get to know new areas and interesting places. And Champagne is always worth a trip.
