Von Anfang an dabei waren Alexander Sadilek (CZE), Jean-Paul Alexander (BEL), Loîc Eonet (FRA), Christophe Etorre (FRA), Ulli Libor (GER), Steve Bullmore (GBR), Simon Hill (GBR), Henk van Heuvelen (NED) und ich selbst (GER). Als loser Zusammenschluss nannten wir uns „Action4Europe“ und brachten unsere nationalen und internationalen Erfahrungen in unseren eigenen und anderen Bootsklassen ein.

Und wir waren erfolgreich – siehe meine ausführliche Analyse von vor einem Jahr. Im Jahr 2023 haben wir sechs Regatten mit insgesamt 153 Teilnehmern veranstaltet. Im Jahr 2024 fanden acht Regatten mit 192 Teilnehmern statt, im Jahr 2025 sieben Regatten mit 150 Teilnehmern. Im Jahr 2026 fanden 10 Regatten mit 233 Teilnehmern statt. Dabei nahmen an einer einzelnen Regatta wie der French Open 11 Nationen teil.

In den vergangenen vier Jahren, von 2023 bis 2026, haben einige der Gründungsmitglieder von Action4Europe die Organisation verlassen, während andere das Segeln aufgegeben haben – jeweils aus ganz unterschiedlichen persönlichen Gründen.

Ich habe die Action4Europe-Website von Anfang an aufgebaut und gepflegt und übergebe diese Aufgabe nun an jüngere Kräfte. Patrick Hasset (IRL) hat bereits seit der Easter Egg Regatta die volle Verantwortung für die Website übernommen, ebenso wie Christophe Etorre (FRA) unseren Facebook-Account. Mir blieb nur noch, die Ranglisten fertigzustellen. Das ist nun erledigt.

Ich verabschiede mich nun also als Webmaster und bitte euch, Patrick und Christophe genauso herzlich zu unterstützen, wie ihr mich unterstützt habt.

Eine weitere Aufgabe, die ich abgebe, ist die Organisation der „Report Trophy“. Mein Nachfolger in dieser Funktion wird Lutz-Christian Schröder sein. Vielen Dank auch an dich, Lutz!

Organisée de main de maître par Jean-Paul et Corinne Alexander, entourés de toute leur équipe de bénévoles, la régate du RYCB a une nouvelle fois tenu toutes ses promesses !

Ce fut une réussite totale, aussi bien sur l’eau qu’à terre. L’accueil était, comme toujours, tout simplement parfait, sans oublier les désormais indispensables soupes quotidiennes qui nous ont permis de reprendre des forces. Et vu les conditions parfois bien musclées, nous en avions besoin !

Quelques jours avant la régate, nous avions déjà noté, et regretté, l’absence de G…, accompagné de M… Ils devront maintenant assumer de ne pas avoir fait partie de ceux qui pourront dire : « J’y étais ! » car cette édition restera certainement dans les mémoires.

Vendredi : entrée en matière sportive

La météo avait annoncé du vent et même un petit coup de tempête, et elle ne s’était pas trompée ! Malgré cela, le comité de course a parfaitement su manœuvrer et profiter des bonnes fenêtres météo pour nous permettre de disputer trois manches le vendredi.

Des conditions assez physiques, certes, mais après tout, nous étions venus pour régater !

Samedi : une journée presque parfaite

La journée de samedi fut tout simplement superbe.

Un beau soleil pour commencer la matinée et deux manches disputées dans une dizaine de nœuds. L’après-midi, le vent est monté autour de 12 à 14 nœuds, permettant d’enchaîner trois nouvelles manches et de conclure cette deuxième journée avec déjà huit manches au compteur.

Après l’effort, le réconfort !

Cette très belle journée s’est terminée autour d’un excellent barbecue, légèrement arrosé comme il se doit. Certains coureurs ont d’ailleurs été aperçus avec un excellent verre de whisky à la main… enfin, plutôt plusieurs verres successifs !

La soirée s’est finalement achevée sur une petite note de rhum, généreusement apporté par nos amis irlandais. Un grand merci au passage à la famille Hassett pour cette délicate contribution à la récupération des sportifs lors de cette soirée !

Dimanche : les 2.4 mis à l’épreuve

La journée de dimanche a, elle aussi, tenu toutes ses promesses. Les rafales annoncées étaient bien au rendez-vous, permettant à chacun de vérifier, si besoin était, la solidité de son 2.4 !

Heureusement, peu d’incidents ont été signalés.

Quelques concurrents, poussés par un vent particulièrement enthousiaste, se sont néanmoins retrouvés un peu plus rapidement que prévu sur le quai, voiles encore gonflées… Une petite pensée notamment pour le bateau de R…, qui gardera lui aussi un souvenir particulier de cette arrivée !

Tous les participants ont également pu apprécier le grand retour d’Ulli Libor. Il a parfaitement démontré dimanche qu’il avait retrouvé toute sa forme et surtout toute son envie, en remportant brillamment la neuvième manche.

Patrick Hassett nous a lui aussi impressionnés par sa maîtrise dans ces conditions particulièrement physiques. Sans doute le résultat de quelques entraînements bien inspirés avec Mégane…

Et la victoire revient à Mégane !

Au classement final, la victoire revient à Mégane, qui a une nouvelle fois démontré toute sa maîtrise de la régate.

Le plateau était pourtant relevé, avec plusieurs concurrents bien affûtés et manifestement décidés à tenter de la détrôner. Ils ont essayé… mais sans succès cette fois-ci !

Bravo à elle, bravo à tous les concurrents et surtout un immense merci à Jean-Paul, Corinne, au comité de course et à l’ensemble des bénévoles pour cette magnifique organisation.

Une régate comme on les aime : du sport, du vent, de la convivialité, quelques émotions… et de très bons moments à terre comme sur l’eau !

Rendez-vous en 2027 !

Nous nous retrouverons tous à Lavacourt pour le French Open, les 12, 13 et 14 mars 2027.

Sans doute dans des conditions différentes, permettant à chacun de mieux exprimer ses talents… mais, nous l’espérons, toujours avec cette même ambiance conviviale qui fait tout l’esprit de la classe 2.4.

Sunday – Shifting winds and suspense until the very end
A further three races were sailed on Sunday. The wind came from shifting directions and ranged between
2 and 5 m/s. Temperatures were between 5 and 9°C, and the weather brought some rain and fog.
The light and shifting winds made the races challenging and led to changes in the overall standings.

Vom 30.9. bis zum 3.10.2026 fand in diesem Jahr die Internationale Deutsche Meisterschaft im schönen Plau am See statt. Ausgetragen wurde die Veranstaltung vom Plauer Hai-Live e.V., der Termin wurde in das 20. Jahr nach Gründung des Vereins gelegt. Und so hat es sich zugetragen, dass wir mit einem Festzelt und entsprechendem Programm vom Vorsitzenden des Vereins, Lutz-Christian Schröder und vielen helfenden Mitgliedern und Angehörigen empfangen worden sind. Heiner Forstmann hat die Vermessung übernommen und ist sehr zuvorkommend bei allen Seglern am Bootsanhänger zur Kontrolle vorbeigekommen. DANKE Heiner.

Lutz-Christian hatte im Vorfeld der Veranstaltung viel Schriftverkehr, um die Durchfahrt der Elde für die Segler genehmigt zu bekommen, da es laut Binnenschifffahrtsstrassenordnung verboten ist. Als Besonderheit der Wettfahrtplanung hat sich dann gezeigt, dass wir täglich das gleiche Zeitfenster hatten von 45min um unter Segeln rein und raus zu kommen. Es war zwingend notwendig, sich als Teilnehmer daran zu halten, da sonst ein 4-stelliges Bußgeld fällig sein würde. Ich denke mal, die Wasserschutzpolizei war mit dem Verhalten der Segler zufrieden. Es gibt Hoffnung für die kommenden Jahre.  

Am ersten Wettfahrttag konnten wir bei ca. 8-12 kn aus Südost die geplanten 3 Wettfahrten absolvieren und waren im vorgegebenen Zeitfenster in der Elde. Am frühen Abend ging es dann gleich mit dem Programm im Festzelt los: Zur Stimmungsanfeuerung hat uns der Leichtmatrose Nagelritz von seinen Reisen und Abenteuern berichtet. Im Anschluss gab es ein sehr leckeres reichhaltiges Büfett und wir konnten den Abend mit eigenem Seemannsgarn und kühlen Getränken ausklingen lassen.

Am zweiten Wettfahrttag wollte Rasmus uns etwas auf die Geduldsprobe stellen. Der Kurs lag, dann kam der Winddreher, die Verlegung des Kurses und der Startlinie folgten und auch mehrere abgebrochene Starts. Somit kam es zu Zeitverzögerungen und es konnten deshalb bei schwachen Winden nur 2 Wettfahrten gesegelt werden. Diese gestalteten sich bei sehr langer Startlinie und im Verhältnis dazu kurzer Kreuz interessant und sehr wechselhaft, da die erste Tonne auch eher in Lee einer Baumgruppe lag…

Am Abend wurden wir zu einer Feier anlässlich des 20. Jahrestages des Bestehens des Plauer Hai-Live e.V. ins Festzelt geladen.

Der Plauer Hai-Live e.V. wurde 2006 auf Initiative von Peter Schumann, damals Oberarzt der nahgelegenen Rehaklinik in Plau am See gegründet. Es begann mit einem Boot und ca. 10 Mitgliedern. Mittlerweile verfügt der Verein über 14 clubeigene Boote und hat ca.100 Mitglieder. 

Wesentlicher Bestandteil der Vereinsaktivitäten ist das Reha-Segeln. Der Verein bietet den Patienten der Reha Klinik von Mai bis September zweimal in der Woche die Möglichkeit, zu segeln und die Geselligkeit und Gastfreundschaft des Vereins zu genießen. Darüber hinaus hat sich ein Team von Regattaseglern zusammengefunden. Der Plauer Hai-Live führt seit Jahren am ersten Oktoberwochenende die Nevellüüchtregatta durch. In diesem Jahr zum  12.Mal.

In den vergangenen Jahren ist es immer wieder gelungen, Menschen für den Verein und seine Arbeit zu interessieren. Aus dem Fundus der gut gepflegten Vereinsboote haben schon mehrere Segler für die eine oder andere Veranstaltung oder auch eine Saison ein Schiff leihen dürfen. Vielen Dank dafür.

Ein Höhepunkt des Abends war dann mit Sicherheit der Bandauftritt von Mitgliedern des PHL, Michael (vokal + Drumms), Lutz (Bass), Frauke (Keyboard) und Lutz-Christian an der Gitarre. Michael Tiemann hat in den Texten die eigenen 2.4 Erlebnisse dokumentiert und für uns hiermit veröffentlicht. Danke Michael, dass du uns daran teilhaben lässt, hier ein ganz kurzer Ausschnitt:

„Die Nevellücht, sie ist etabliert, Dam, dam, – dam, dam.
Auch die IDM, die rocken wir, Dam, dam, – dam, dam.
Plauer Haie beißen nicht, nehmen nur ihre Segel dicht,
zwanzig Jahre sind wir hier, und das feiern wir!“

Am nächsten Morgen wurde dann leider auf Grund von fehlendem Wind keine Wettfahrt mehr gesegelt. Christoph Trömer hat sich darüber schon gefreut, und konnte sich somit mit einem Punkt Vorsprung vor Meghan den Meistertitel sichern. Heiko konnte mit dem 3. Platz nun endlich auch mal eine Bronzemedaille in seine Sammlung aufnehmen. Ich habe gehört, es war die IDM mit der bisher höchsten Teilnehmerzahl im 2.4mR.

Es war wieder mal schön in Plau, vielen vielen Dank an alle fleißigen Helfer.

Jachtklub Máchova Jezera Staré Splavy hosted the international 2.4mR Grand Prix at Lake Mácha from 26 to 28 September 2026. The event brought together 15 sailors from six countries: Czechia, Germany, Ireland, Austria, Ukraine and France. Eight races were completed over three days.

The regatta tested the sailors’ ability to respond to changing wind conditions. Predominantly southeasterly winds gradually strengthened throughout the event, with shifts of around 30 degrees on all three days.

Saturday began with a wait for wind. Eventually, one race was completed in light and variable conditions of 2–6 knots. Detlef Mueller-Boeling won ahead of Daniel Bína and Alexander Sadílek. Positions continued to change late in the race: Bína lost his lead after running out of wind on the final downwind leg and rounded the leeward mark in fifth. He then found a gust on the final leg to recover to second at the finish.

Racing was again delayed until around noon on Sunday. The wind then built to 4–8 knots, allowing the race committee to complete four races. Alexander Sadílek, Detlef Mueller-Boeling, Daniel Bína and Patrick Hassett each took a win. Mueller-Boeling’s consistent results strengthened his position in the battle for the overall title.

The final day brought the strongest breeze of the regatta, at approximately 8–10 knots, and three more races. Daniel Bína, Petr Čermák and Patrick Hassett were scored OCS for starting early in Monday’s opening race, which was won by Austria’s Gerald Zernatto. Petr Čermák and Patrick Hassett won the remaining two races, while Bína secured second overall with two second-place finishes.

Detlef Mueller-Boeling won the Grand Prix with 11 points. His consistency was reflected in a counting scorecard containing no result worse than third after two discards. Daniel Bína finished second with 14 points, while Alexander Sadílek took third with 19 points, just one point ahead of Patrick Hassett. Petr Čermák completed the top five with 22 points, giving the Czech fleet two podium places and three boats in the top five.

Thanks go to the organising team at Jachtklub Máchova Jezera Staré Splavy and the race committee, whose efforts made it possible to complete eight races despite the challenging wind conditions. We also thank all the sailors for taking part, especially those who travelled a long way to Staré Splavy and helped make the regatta a truly international event.

After the first day of racing, we were all pretty knackered, so we were able to recharge our batteries with a bit of happy hour, some lovely pasta and some nice chats. On Saturday, the conditions remained sailable, although you never knew when the forecast ‘black wall’ of rain would roll in. Between around 10 am and 2 pm, another four races were completed in quick succession. Megan had arrived at the regatta a day later and was able to push Christoph to his sailing limits and challenge him on the water.

The afternoon was free to spend as we wished, for example exploring the local area. We went on a trip to Den Helder, which really impressed us with its maritime history, the historic harbour facilities and the museum ships. From 5 pm, we were invited to a barbecue with a variety of delicious dishes and, once again, a great atmosphere at the WSV Amstelmeer clubhouse.

On Sunday, the wind died down just in time for the start, so we were able to sail at around 15–18 knots and complete a further two races in superb conditions. Christoph managed to hold on to first place, followed by Martin in second place overall. Peter Visser was crowned Dutch champion, finishing third overall, followed by Frank Havik.

All in all, it was great fun. Many thanks to the organisers at WSV Amstelmeer, the brilliant race committee and the whole crew, both on the water and on land.

This therefore presents a unique opportunity to speak directly with people from Ukraine, who have been fighting a highly successful defensive war on behalf of the whole of Europe for almost five years.

The sailing area is set in a very beautiful landscape. Lake Macha offers everything we 2.4mR sailors need: good jetties, decent wind, professional race organisation, good food and a very reasonable registration fee of 1,500 CZK (approximately €63). The top Czech sailors will be competing, as will sailors from five other nations. However, there is still room for more entrants!

Frank Havik

Alexander Sadilek, CZE 4, invites us to the Czech Republic Grand Prix from 26 to 28 September 2026. The venue is the beautiful Mácha Lake.

The regatta has a long tradition and is taking part in Action4Europe for the second time. Two sailors from Kyiv, Ukraine, who took part last year, are also expected to attend, thereby continuing the development of the Ukrainian 2.4mR fleet and its integration into Europe. This also gives us a great opportunity to catch up with our Ukrainian friends in a relaxed atmosphere and to hear first-hand from them about the situation there. I will also be taking the opportunity to bring some boat equipment and sails for them. Please do the same if you can.

Alexander promises that all eight Czech 2.4mR sailors will be competing. So there are only a few Austrian, French, German or other sailors left to go to reach the minimum number of 15 partcipants.

There are caravan pitches on the grounds of the Yacht Club Staré Splavy. The lake is situated in a holiday resort, so there are plenty of guesthouses and hotels available for overnight stays.

There are plenty of moorings available, and the race director is fulfilling a long-standing request from Ulli Libor to direct the regatta proceedings from the windward mark. This gives us an excellent upwind leg.
