The year 2026 will bring several innovations. Not only the number of Regattas has increased, and the popular Report Trophy also needs to be reorganised and redesigned.
To date, the sailor in fifth place in the overall standings of an Action5Europe regatta wins the trophy as a challenge cup. This means that at the awards ceremony, the winner receives the prize for a few minutes, is photographed with it, and is then obligated to write a report about the regatta for this website. After this announcement, they must immediately return the prize. This is necessary so that the sailor can receive the prize for 4th place at the next Action5Europe regatta.
This procedure worked very well logistically for 6 or 8 regattas. With 14 regattas now, some of which take place at the same time but in distant areas of Europe, this will no longer be possible. We have therefore created a new trophy, which the winner will also be photographed with and which he or she can now keep. It will be sent to the organisers in good time before each regatta so that this very popular prize (among those who do not receive it) 🙂 can continue to be awarded.
We are sure that this new trophy will bring just as much joy, and of course the winner will still be featured in the virtual Hall of Fame on this website.
