In the last days of the year, we look forward to the upcoming sailing season in Europe. Based on the experience gained in the first three years, Action4Europe has revised some of its principles for 2026.
Action4Europe Calendar
The regattas that are part of this are no longer defined by us, but by the sailing clubs or class associations in Europe. Anyone can now organise an Action4Europe Regatta by registering.It will then be added to our calendar and supported by Action4Europe. This broadens our base, even in countries that were not previously represented. At the same time, more sailors have the opportunity to sail Action4Europe regattas close to home.
This approach is already proving successful. The number of regattas is increasing from 7 regattas in 4 countries (2025) already at 13 regattas in 8 countries (2026). This includes AUT, BEL, CZE, GBR, GER, FRA, NED and SWE. More will surely be added.
Action4Europe Champion Ranking
We will of course continue our popular ranking of the best sailors in Europe with continuous updates after each regatta. The new feature is that only results from regattas in which more than 15 participants from at least 3 countries have completed a race will be included in this ranking.
Action4Europe Club Ranking
Furthermore, we are introducing a new ranking of regattas with the most international participants who are not from the host country. This is intended to highlight sailing clubs that are particularly attractive to foreign participants.
Report Trophy
As before, every reader of this website can look forward to the regatta reports. These will be written by the participant who finished 5th overall in the regatta and will therefore also receive the Report Trophy in 2026 and will be recorded into the Hall of Fame .
Retain what has proven successful, try out new things
When we launched Action4Europe, we did not anticipate such resounding success. But nothing is worse than resting on past successes. Therefore, we have made some adjustments and further developments for 2026.
