The regattas for the meter-classes in Toulon begin today, a day late. A practice race was scheduled to start yesterday, but with winds reaching 39 knots, this was impossible. The 12-meter boats also stayed in the harbor – see photo above.
Loic used the day to bring together two silver medalists who hadn't seen each other for years. Marc Pajot from France won Olympic silver in 1972 off Kiel and Ulli Libor from Germany in 1968 off Acapulco. In 1972 Ulli was beaten by Marc and won bronze.

Ulli continued celebrating this morning with the christening of his new Super 3. The chronicler doesn't know how many boats in the 2.4mR class this was since 2014, when he joined us. 🙂

Today the weather is more moderate, with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius and winds below 10 knots. Hopefully, something will happen. Because this regatta also counts towards the 2025 annual ranking in the European Circuit. Results also appear here.
