For the Dutch Championship, there will again be information - as at the previous European Cicruit regattas - about the surroundings of the country and its people.
The Zuidlaardermeer: an oasis of peace and relaxation
Located on the border of the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe, the Zuidlaardermeer is a hidden gem in the North East of the Netherlands. Surrounded by beautiful nature and picturesque villages, the lake offers numerous recreational opportunities.
The lake and its surroundings are a real paradise for nature lovers. The surrounding nature areas such as the Oostpolder and the Leekstermeer are home to a rich flora and fauna. Hiking and biking trails criss-cross the landscape, providing the perfect opportunity to explore nature and enjoy the tranquility.

Groningen
Only 17 km from the venue of the Dutch Championship Zuidlaardermeer lies Groningen, the absolute trendsetter in the Netherlands. The city may be old, but despite all the historical buildings it seems incredibly young - almost 60.000 of the total 200.000 inhabitants are students. This makes Groningen the youngest city in the Netherlands. And what's more: According to an EU study, the people of Groningen are among the happiest Europeans.
Groningen - a place that combines the antiquity of North Holland with the invigorating dynamism of a university city. From the cafes of the Grote Markt to the abstract architecture of the Groninger Museum, the city has a lot to offer and represents an attractive mix of contemporary Dutch culture.
You can feel the energy when you look out over the city from the Martinitoren or stroll through the ancient streets and alleys. Here, oases of calm lie next to lively student hangouts and bustling market squares.
