Was sie brauchen, sind Segel, Boote und Geld.
Was sie haben, sind drei 2.4mR und viele segelmotivierte Menschen mit kriegsbedingten Behinderungen.

Kateryna Tiapkina schrieb mir auf meine Frage, was benötigt wird:

• Was wir derzeit dringend brauchen, ist Geld für Treibstoff. Bei der Ausbildung begleitet ein Ausbilder die Segler auf einem Motorboot. Jeden Monat brauchen wir etwa 150-200 Liter Benzin, was etwa 200 € kostet.
• Für eine Ausweitung des Programms benötigen wir Mittel für das Gehalt des Ausbilders – 500 € pro Monat – sowie für die Bezahlung des Theorielehrers, da unser Kurs sowohl aus theoretischen als auch aus praktischen Teilen besteht. Der Dozent hält insgesamt 10 Vorlesungen – das kostet 200 €. Der praktische Teil des Kurses dauert drei Monate.
• Wir hoffen, dass wir in Zukunft kleine gedruckte Broschüren für den theoretischen Teil des Kurses erstellen können. Wir haben viele Pläne und Ideen und versuchen, die Finanzierung durch Spenden von Bürgern und Zuschussanträge zu sichern, aber im Moment arbeiten wir mit unseren eigenen begrenzten Mitteln.
• Und natürlich brauchen wir unbedingt mehr 2.4mR Boote. Das würde uns sehr helfen und mehr Seglern mit Behinderung möglich machen zu segeln.

Ich werde selbst privat Hilfe leisten, bitte aber auch die Action4Europe Familie, die ukrainischen Segler zu unterstützen. Gerne will ich das koordinieren. Bitte gebt

Die Französische Klassenvereinigung (KV) hat dazu den Vorschlag gemacht, eine Untersuchung durchzuführen, was Hindernisse für unser Wachstum sind. Konkret wird beispielhaft gefragt, ob der Fokus auf Menschen mit Behinderung ein Hindernis angesichts vollständig integrativer Strategien ist?

Dazu hat Oliver Thies, noch Vorsitzender der Deutschen Klassenvereinigung (DKV), eine furiose Ablehnung geschrieben, die leider Fakten nicht genau nimmt oder ignoriert:

„Der Vorschlag der Französischen Klassenvereinigung (und der „Action4Europe“ Protagonisten) … ist nicht nur ein fehlgeleiteter Versuch um die Klasse voranzubringen, sondern vielmehr ein beunruhigendes Beispiel für die rückwärtsgewandte Mentalität, die in dieser Diskussion immer noch vorherrscht. Die erste Frage: „Ist der Fokus auf behinderte Menschen ein Hindernis …“ der Umfrage ist bereits skandalös, da sie suggeriert, dass Parasport, die Inklusion von Menschen mit Behinderungen und die Förderung von Vielfalt ein „Hindernis“ für unser Wachstum sind. Eine solche Einstellung ist nicht nur unangemessen, sondern auch gefährlich und völlig unvereinbar mit den Grundsätzen der Gleichheit und Inklusion, die die Grundlage unserer Klasse bilden.“

Da bei der Attacke auch völlig unbegründet Action4Europe (A4E) mit eingebunden ist, will ich als Teil dieser Kampagne einige „alternative Fakten“ von Oliver gerade rücken. Ich habe dazu kein Mandat, da es dieses bei A4E nicht geben kann. Es handelt sich um meine persönliche Meinung:

1. A4E ist ein loser Zusammenschluss von 2.4mR Seglern. Während aus Frankreich, den Niederlanden, Belgien oder Österreich Vorstandsmitglieder der jeweiligen NCA dabei sind, ist das für Deutschland nicht der Fall. Insofern aber spricht die Französische KV nicht für A4E „Protagonisten“, was immer das auch sein mag.
2. Oliver und möglicherweise auch Teile des Vorstands der ICA glauben und suggerieren, dass Parasport = Inklusion ist. Das Gegenteil ist der Fall: Para ist Exklusion. Erst gleichberechtige Teilhabe aller Menschen ist Inklusion. Das ist bei Parasegeln nicht der Fall. Und wenn die Französische KV fragt, ob es nicht eine sinnvolle Strategie für die 2.4er ist, an den regulären olympischen Regatten teilzunehmen, dann ist das Ausdruck einer sehr hohen Form der Inklusion.

Leider dient die Ablehnung des Antrags der Franzosen nur der Diffamierung des Antrags und von Falschmeldungen über A4E. Wer diese Webseite nur stichwortartig nach dem Wort Inklusion absucht, der wird erkennen, dass hier keine Menschen mit Handicap herabgewürdigt werden, aber die Auffassung vertreten wird, dass Inklusion dann erreicht ist, wenn man nicht mehr über sie spricht. Und eigentlich müssen wir das in der 2.4mR Gemeinschaft auch gar nicht mehr; denn hier ist Inklusion selbstverständlich.

Die Frage stellt sich, warum ein Mensch wie Oliver, der

• längst nicht mehr 2.4mR segelt, sondern OK-Jolle,
• der mehrfach erklärt hat, in Kürze sein Amt aufzugeben,

für die Deutsche KV eine solch abstruse Philippika schreibt.
Steckt da jemand ganz anderes dahinter?

Da weder Vorstandsmitglieder der Deutschen KV, geschweige denn die Mitglieder wissen, was Oliver in ihrem Namen schreibt, kann man den Vorgang im Auszug aus den Anlagen zur Mitgliederversammlung der ICA nachlesen.

Dieser Beitrag beschäftigt sich nur mit der Auseinandersetzung über den Vorschlag der Resolution 4 der Franzosen.

• und offen für alle Bootsdesigns.

Meiner Meinung nach war dieser Versuch ein voller Erfolg. Bei 14 Regatten hatten wir 345 Teilnehmer aus 11 europäischen Ländern. Die gesegelten Boote waren Super3, Norlin Mk III, Stradivari, Norlin OD und David Hollom Design.

Keines dieser Designs war den anderen überlegen. Im Gegenteil, jedes einzelne segelte bei der einen oder anderen Regatta an die Spitze. Dies bestätigt die oft geäußerte Ansicht:

Es kommt nicht auf den Mann oder die Frau am Zeichenbrett oder Computer an, sondern auf den Mann oder die Frau am Ruder. Das ist in unserer Designklasse anders als beispielsweise bei der 5.5, aber es spart uns Geld.

Das Programm nach dem Segeln ist eine der herausragenden Eigenschaften des European Circuit. Hier setzen die einzelnen Clubs sehr unterschiedliche Maßstäbe, zum Beispiel

• Durch ein von den Teilnehmern ausgerichtetes Abendessen, bei dem jeder etwas aus seinem Heimatland mitbrachte und so ein wunderbares Buffet entstand.
• Oder durch die Verleihung von Tagespreisen, die aus einer Trommel gezogen wurden.
• Oder eine Rede, die 10 Jahre Regatta mit all ihren Höhepunkten Revue passieren ließ.
• Oder durch die Auszeichnung der ersten Teilnahme an einer Regatta.
• Oder des beständigsten Seglers einer Regatta mit ausschließlich letzten Plätzen.
• Oder eine spontane Polonaise der Teilnehmer.
• Oder eine besondere Begrüßung am Ufer mit Brot und Bier.
• Oder ein Quiz mit Fragen zum Thema Segeln.
• Oder ein besonderer Dank an alle Helfer auf dem Wasser oder an Land.
• Oder mit individueller Musik, zu der jeder Teilnehmer am Begrüßungsabend vorgestellt wurde.

Einerseits schuf das Programm nach dem Segeln ein starkes Gemeinschaftsgefühl unter den Teilnehmern, andererseits herrschte abends auch eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre, in der plötzlich alle mitsangen, einzelne Teilnehmer zu tanzen begannen oder eine Polonaise durch den Saal führte.

Dass der European Circuit weit über die aktive Teilnahme an Regatten hinaus auf großes Interesse stößt, zeigt die Zahl der Besuche auf der Website www.2point4.eu. In den zwei Jahren hatten wir 68.000 Besuche mit insgesamt 180.000 Seitenaufrufen. Der Trend ist steigend und das nicht nur aus den teilnehmenden Ländern in Europa, sondern weltweit.

Zwei neue Begriffe in diesem Jahr spiegeln sehr gut wider, was wir wollen und was wir sind:

Ben van Cauwenbergh sagte kurz und prägnant: „Serious sailing and serious fun“. Und Andreas Greufe sprach von der „Action4Europe-Familie“. Das ist es!

Wir sind daher in jeder Hinsicht ermutigt, den European Circuit 2025 fortzusetzen. Wer jetzt Lunte gerochen hat, sollte einfach an der einen oder anderen Regatta teilnehmen.

Bis dahin: Bleibt gesund (oder werdet gesund).

I recently sailed the 2.4mR Nordic Championchips in Ljungskile and after some discussion about getting people to go to regattas, I started thinking about our history in the 2.4mR and why we go to regattas. It seemed the appropriate moment to reflect on the next act in the 2.4mR Saga and I now realize the curtain has set on that act – reentering the sailing scene after a number of years off due to kids and and some health issues – and the curtain has risen for act 3: In It For The Long Haul. 

As our perspectives on life change and we have more time to travel to regattas, we are thinking about why we spend so much time, effort and money on this endeavor. Obviously, it’s not because we are always winning trophies at regattas, given middle of the pack finishes in the last few years at  local regatta events. Nor is it because the 2.4mR is the fastest, coolest or newest thing to hit the sailing community. We take a more holistic tack.

I’ve had this obsession with watching retirement videos on You Tube over the last few years (I recommend it for people who are getting close) and a few of them have gelled my thoughts on 2.4mR sailing after 35 years: ultimately, it’s an experience. We sail the 2.4mR not because we like owning boats (2.4’s or otherwise), nor do we participate in racing because we are driven by results.

We sail 2.4’s because they are an enabler of life experiences that are not about acquiring things for status or achieving goals.

Of course those things are part of the experience at some level and I very much like working on boats and doing as well as I can at regattas but they are not the primary drivers.

We love the 2.4 community; the people, the vibe. It’s a social outlet, a reason to travel to interesting places (foreign and domestic), an ever changing fun and challenging physical and mental activity, and something that we have always done together.

Furthermore, we get tremendous satisfaction from organizing and running events. Sure it’s gratifying from a project management standpoint to pull off a successful event, but more personally it strengthens the 2.4mR Class which is so meaningful to us as it is such a fundamental part of our shared experience and to which we owe so much. 

These are things that promote fundamental, lifelong happiness and that’s why we do them.

So we’re in it for the long haul. How we do it no doubt will change – and has changed – over the years, but that’s the great thing about the 2.4 and the2.4mR community, it’s easy to adapt and still fun if the desire to do so is there. We can still sail in 30 knots of breeze and enjoy it.

And we really don’t care about whether we qualify to go to the World Championships or not , that’s just not what motivates us to attend regattas. We’ve been and will continue to be here because we cherish the experience. To a certain extent, that may be a subtle shift from the Serious Sailing, to the Serious Fun but if that’s what it takes, so be it.

Speech by Ulli Libor at Royal Dinner at Royal Yachtclub of Belgium

Good evening and thank you for the record of entries to this 6^th European Circuit regatta in Antwerp!

The reason I am asked to be the speaker of this evening seems to me that I’am wearing an European hat! Competing as a member of the French National Class Association but with membership in different Yacht Clubs with the German Sailing Federation.

Allow me a short statement why the Action for Europe and the European Circuit has been started this year.

It was last year at Antwerp City Cup, a group of concerned international sailors was looking for a solution and a strategy to find a way out of stagnation of the 2.4 Class.

Unnecessary publications in matters like OD-One Design, missing marketing strategy and active promotion of Para has kept away sailors from other classes to join 2.4.

Some of us met at this place last year to look for new ideas to promote the class.

Friendship, fun, sportive competition for everyone and conflict free meeting in a new and special European regatta circuit. Action4Europe is the hope for a change.

Let’s all invest in a new image and convince other sailors to join 2.4mR.

The 6 international regattas of the first European Circuit with 80 sailors out of 10 nations is now finalizing with a record of 32 entries here in Antwerp from 7 nations.

This success of the circuit could only happen, because of the enthusiastic 2.4 sailors to blow a fresh wind for sail and more.

Kick off regatta at Lac d’Orient – due to the energy of Christophe and Loic – with an extra amazing highlight: The European Dinner. Every nation presented national food specialities and national drinks. It was great fun and fantastic communication that evening!

Second traditional and international event at Lake Bostal experienced a new high quality of harmony and friendship. Thanks to Michael and Steffi! Special feature was the opening by welcoming every participant with a national typical song and short personal introduction. An excellent start to get to know each other.

Due to insistency of Henk the regatta at Zuidlaardermeer was a new startup for 2.4mR in the Netherlands. Thank you, Henk, we are participating next year to meet a growing class at your home waters.

Traditional welcome from Alexander in Tschech Republic with wonderful landscapes and super race organisation was worth a very long driving to Lake Macha.

Another long trip to lake Plau and a new record of international participation we experienced at the Nevellücht Regatta.  Without the initiative and personal commitment of Lutz and Gaby this top event on one of our best inshore lakes would not have been possible. Thank you to both of you!

And now Jean-Paul, Mr. AntwerpCityCup, and his great team!   Record entries, international participation on a very high level and friendship. Thank you, Jean-Paul for giving us a good and enjoyable time.

Thank you all together for your contribution in organizing top events and competing in the European Circuit events.

You all, invested gigantic distances and time-consuming travelling to take part in our “Action for Europe”. Let me mention and present two people to be honoured for the enormous, extraordinary commitment to participate in four events.

Four long trips from Ireland to Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium must be cheered.

More than 10.000 km and 150 driving hours to take part in 4 events! What a performance!

All these positive and successful highlights are published on our 2point4.eu website, which is an exceptional successful progress.

No other 2.4 website can show this dynamic and development in such a short time. Thank you Detlef for your activities and action: From December 1, 2022 to October 15, 2023: 8.300 visits were counted, this means 800 visits per month. 28.000 pages have been read, which means 2.600 pages per month.
90% participation in Europe, 50 % Germany, 12% Switzerland, 7 % Great Britain and 6% in France. Well spread over Europe and absolute promising for the future.

We have already many individual inputs to go ahead for 2024 regatta dates and venues, which will be shortly published on the 2poin4.eu website.

Now to answer the upcoming question: “Who is Action4Europe?” I can only answer the “Action4Europe” is not an organisation, we are individual enthusiastic 2.4mR sailors from all parts of Europe, who are willing to promote the growth of the 2.4mR class. Big thank you to you all!

Looking forward for “sail and more” and let’s have good racing – in my 10^th coming up year in this wonderful meter racing boat. Thanks, for all your friendship and fair racing for so many years.

Segeln verbindet!

Diesem Gedanken folgt nicht nur der Plauer Hai-Live als Veranstalter der Nevellüücht-Regatta, sondern auch die Initiative Action4Europe. Seit vielen Jahren tragen wir am 1. Oktoberwochenende die Nevellüücht-Regatta aus. Wir hatten immer gutes Wetter ?, immer ein gutes Team und immer begeisterte Seglerinnen und Segler. Wir freuen uns, dass wir das 10-jährige Jubiläum der Nevellüücht-Regatta an diesem Wochenende gemeinsam mit Euch begehen können. Also Euch Allen noch einmal ein herzliches Willkommen und allen Helferinnen und Helfern einen großen Dank.

Gemeinsam in Bewegung kommen und in Bewegung sein – Entwicklung! Das ist eine notwendige Gelingensbedingung für Entwicklung

• für jeden Einzelnen,
• aber, auch für uns alle – als Klasse der 2.4er!

Für eine solche Entwicklung benötigt man neue Formate und Initiativen. Zum Beispiel

• • regional den BerlinCup
• • überregional ??
• • und auf europäische Ebene Action4Europe!

Ich denke, wir werden gemeinsam alles tun, um noch erfolgreicher die Geschichte von unserem schönen Boot und seinen Möglichkeiten weiter zu erzählen.

Schön, dass diese Idee inzwischen so viele Mitstreiter hat, und das Beste:

Ihr Alle seid auch mit dabei!

Bei unseren European Circuit Regatten ist es mittlerweile eine gute Gewohnheit geworden, dass wir herausragende Seglerinnen und Segler in unseren Tageswertungen ehren. Dabei sind es keineswegs die jeweiligen ersten drei des Tages, sondern besonders weit gereiste Segler oder jüngste Segler oder Seglerinnen oder Ehepaare oder der Segler mit den konstantesten Ergebnissen oder …

Häufig sind es Seglerinnen oder Segler, die ansonsten aufgrund ihrer Platzierungen nicht im Mittelpunkt stehen. Siehe im Einzelnen dazu die Berichte über die European Circuit Regatten durch die Report Trophy Gewinner. Zu unseren erklärten Zielen bei Action4Europe gehört ja gerade auch der freundschaftliche Umgang miteinander. Und der drückt sich auch in solchen Hervorhebungen von ansonsten nicht mit Preisen überhäuften Teilnehmern aus.

In diesem Sinne habt eine gute Zeit, spinnt reichlich Seemannsgarn heute Abend und Guten Appetit!

Pro mne osobně a zřejmě i pro další jachtaře v naší lodní třídě, ale ne jen tam, se v poslední době projevuje jakási nevraživost, snad zášť, separace, intolerance, segregace místo inkluze a přátelské spolupráce.

Stále se mluví o inkluzi, rovnosti a stejné podmínky pro všechny. Je tomu tak?  Bohužel mnohdy ne.

Příkladem je Para Mistrovství světa v Haagu/Brassemmermeer 2023.. Nepřesnými informacemi  vznikl chaos, nepravosti, nedorozumění. Para Mistrovství Světa bylo avizováno dlouho dopředu jen s rámcovými informacemi. Po včasném oficiálním přihlášení na tento závod prostřednictvím národního jachtařského svazu, rezervaci ubytování, zajištění kouče, člunu atd., se teprve po nějaké době zveřejnilo, že na tomto Mistrovství světa může závodit jen jeden závodník za každý stát. – To už je první exkluze…teprve po delší době si vzpomněl další závodník, že by se chtěl zúčastnit on, že je lepší jachtař… že má lepší výsledky (minulou sezony jel minimum závodů). No a výsledek – bez kvalifikačního závodu Národní svaz rozhodl bez jakékoliv diskuze, či návrhů že pojede ten druhý. Další exkluze – s výsledkem, že jeden je údajně lepší, má navrch tak nemusí ty „horší“ani zdravit.

To je jen příklad z malé země s velice omezeným počtem závodníků… v jiné zemi je zase problém mezi Severem a Jihem, a tak bych mohl pokračovat…

Proto vítám naši iniciativu „Action4Europe“- setkání podobně smýšlejících jachtařů a jejich doprovodů. Byl jsem účastníkem bohužel jen druhého závodu na Bostalsee. Laťka byla nastavena velmi vysoko ve všech směrech – 23 účastníků z 9 zemí Evropy…fantastické zázemí atd. zopakuje se to? …snad ano, přípravy na Grand Prix na Máchově jezeře intenzivně pokračují ….osobně věřím, že většina pochopí, že exkluzivita nikam nevede a lodní třídě 2.4mr nijak nepomůže.

The inconsistencies of the term “Inclusion”

The tensions that run through our class have origins that are too deep (and financial!) to be easily circumvented without talking about them; then, since words always have meaning, progress is often made by clarifying their meaning rather than by fighting directly against their misuse…

The use of the word “Inclusion” has slipped since we first understood its meaning at the beginning of our investment in our class. So, my reflection is on this semantic slippage, and my analysis leads me to think that the word “Inclusion” doesn’t mean anything anymore, but that this situation is mainly due to its strength!

I would therefore like to insist on the complementary nature of “Accessibility” and “Inclusion”.

Making our professional, cultural and sporting activities accessible to people with disabilities is a beautiful project in which many can find meaning and satisfaction. But once access is achieved, inclusion becomes the obvious step in which differences are blurred, challenges are established, and competitions are organized.

So let us find a unifying word, a slogan, with impact and depth!

“IOR – Inclusive Open Regatta” seems to me to have these qualities:

• Involving all competitors, regardless of age, gender or ability. 
• Open up our clubs to an attentive welcome.
• Respect each individuality, unite languages, desires and energies so that conviviality prevails over our differences.

This is not only a good definition of inclusion, but also a broad proposal towards accessibility which must, in particular, go through the best welcome of all in our clubs.

Publishing, repeating, sending, explaining, confining oneself to this simple label seems to me an interesting path, if it is not solitary!

Social living is the best

As one of the members of the 2.4 community that has been around for the longest time in the history of the 2.4mR class – I ordered the plans for the Norlin Mk III from Peter Norlin in 1987 – I have been asked to contribute with a monthly letter. Those of you that has been around a couple of years may have stumbled across my comments through the years and know that I hold some strong opinions. I will try here to view the 2.4mR class from maybe some other angles than the usual.

Frustratingly I have been aware of different interests conflicting and diminishing the potential and possibilities for growth in the 2.4mR class ever since I entered the class in the end of the eighties.

Looking at it in the rear view mirror it seems that the conflict line in our community does not differ much from the conflict lines in the society as a hole. Self interest stands against the common good.

A number of different interests in our class can be identified. Builders/designers interest in monopolizing, sailors promoting their own career path, new designers/builders looking for a market for their attempts to compete and surely I have missed some others.

Due to the above described conditions that undoubtedly has diminished the potential for growth as well as lessened members feeling of being part of a thriving happy community I would like to promote the view that the main factor that glues any group gathered of free will together is the ability of it’s members to put the common good before self-interest.

How do you promote the common good then you may ask. I will try to point out some decisive factors that benefits all equally.

• Predictability
  In order to invest both emotionally and economically in the class one needs to know what rules will apply in the foreseeable future and what vision is leading the community, in what direction it moves.

• Fair play
  The leadership of the organization needs to lead by example and always act with full transparency without favoring any special interest at the expense of others and highlight the social aspects of being part of the community.

• Democratization
  By using fleet organization, you can involve members more directly in decision-making and thus increase identification with our class. There are some good examples of this that we can    learn from, the Star class is prominent in this regard. Being part of the 2.4mR class can and should be more than just buying a boat adhering to the class rules and seek to win races.

• Open class rule
  The meaning of the open class rule may be interpreted as an invitation to participate in the common quest and in friendly competition to step by step develop the 2.4mR yacht both in order to maximize accessibility and performance and thus increase it’s attraction to all sorts of sailors.

I believe that it would be a great step forward and away from conflicts if the leadership in dialogue with the membership could produce a document in the spirit of these lines. A common vision all can agree on irrespective of personal biases that emphasizes on what unites us, not what divides.

Von vielen erwartet, wurde soeben vom Internationalen Paralympischen Komitee beschlossen, Segeln nicht in das Programm für die Paralympischen Spiele 2028 in Los Angeles aufzunehmen.

Das ist ein harter Schlag für diejenigen in der 2.4mR-Klasse, die der Schimäre Parasegeln in den letzten Jahren hinterhergelaufen sind. Parasegeln, also Segeln von Behinderten mit Para-Europa und Para-Weltmeisterschaften sowie gesonderten Wertungen für Behinderte in anderen Regatten war leider die einzige Säule der 2.4 Markenstrategie der vergangenen Jahre. Das war wohl ein schwerer Fehler. Denn die Frage lautet jetzt für die Klasse: Was nun?

Inzwischen ist der Zug gerade im Segeln längst weitergefahren. Parasegeln ist out, inklusives Segeln ist in. Parasegeln bedeutet, dass Menschen mit Behinderung segeln und damit den Segelsport überhaupt ausüben können. Inklusion bedeutet, dass Behinderte wie Nichtbehinderte den Sport gemeinsam und auf Augenhöhe etwa im Wettkampf mit gleichen Chancen ausüben. Dieses inklusive Segeln ist im 2.4er in höchster Vollendung möglich, wurde aber national wie international zu Lasten des Segelns einiger Behinderter – ein Segler pro Land – bei den Paralympics zurückgedrängt. Das gut gemeinte Argument, das Strahlen eines Paralympic-Seglers zieht Behinderte Segler magnetisch in diesen Leistungssport, ist angesichts völlig anderer Motivationslagen und der geringen Anzahl behinderter Neueinsteiger in den letzten 25 Jahren in Deutschland zumindest fragwürdig.

Dass der Zug in Richtung Inklusion fährt, hat sich deutlich auf dem Inklusionstag des Deutschen Segler Verbands während der Düsseldorfer Messe boot vor einigen Tagen gezeigt. Viele Initiativen mit anderen Bootsklassen wurden gestartet. RS Adventure, SV 14 oder J70 standen mit vorbildhaften Aktivitäten von gemeinsamem Segeln von Menschen mit und ohne Handicap aber auch von Frauen und Männern im Mittelpunkt der Aufmerksamkeit. Und einhellig war die Meinung, dass Segeln die ideale Sportart für die Weiterentwicklung von Inklusion als Sport auf gleicher Augenhöhe ist. Der 2.4er wurde zwar hier und da erwähnt, aber spielte keine Rolle als Leuchtturm.

Die Verantwortlichen der 2.4mR-Klasse national wie international haben sich verrannt und stehen nun mit leeren Händen da, während andere Bootsklassen mit innovativen Konzepten und Ideen am 2.4mR in Sachen Inklusion vorbeiziehen. Und es steht zu befürchten, dass keine Lerneffekte eintreten; denn erste Stimmen hört man bereits aus 2.4er-Kreisen, die Hoffnung auf die Paralympics 2032 hegen.

Es wäre schade um diese einmalige Bootsklasse, wenn es dabei bleiben würde.

Mit Action4Europe will eine engagierte Gruppe von europäischen Seglern aus dieser Sackgasse herauskommen. Ein erster Schritt ist die Idee des European Circuit, eine Regattaserie, die uns freundschaftlich in Europa zusammenführt, die Offenheit für alle betont und den Spaß untereinander ebenso wie den hochwertigen Wettkampf in den Mittelpunkt stellt.

Weitere Ideen sind notwendig und willkommen, um aus dem Tief heraus zu kommen.
